How to Shave Your Legs Without Shaving Cream

You do not need shave gels and shaving creams to get a close shave on your legs. A bar of soap or body wash along with a little water in the shower or bathtub provides you enough foam for a sharp razor to slide over your legs. Shaving in the shower provides you with steam and moisture to keep your skin supple.

Turn the shower on, step in and allow the water and steam from the shower to soften and moisten your legs. If you prefer taking a bath, sit in the tub for a bit, allowing the water to soften and moisten your legs for a few minutes before you begin shaving.

Create a thick lather with soap and water by placing a bar of soap between your hands and rubbing your hands together vigorously. If you prefer liquid soap, squeeze or pour an amount equal to a half dollar coin into the palm of your hand, add a small amount of water and rub your hands together vigorously. Spread this lather over your legs.

Pull the razor slowly over your leg starting at your ankle and moving against the direction of the hair growth. Remove the hair using short, gentle 2- to 3-inch strokes in small sections no more than 6 to 8 inches in length. Reapply soap and water as needed.

Rinse the soap from your legs thoroughly. Step from the shower or tub and pat your legs dry.
